- Poor quality fuel, engine oil in the combustion chambers, or improper air-fuel ratio cause contamination of the exhaust gas recirculation valve, which leads to its malfunctioning.

Check your car repair manual for where your EGR valve is located and what components you need to remove to access the valve in order to detach it for cleaning or replacement.Important!In some cars, the valve is not blocked by other parts. In others, it's necessary to remove the engine cover, the throttle body, and the air filter hose and housing. - 2.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. - 3.
Detach the electrical connector, hoses, and pipes from the valve body. - 4.
Unscrew the fasteners of the valve body and remove it. - 5.
Using a cloth and the cleaner, remove dirt from the valve mounting seat.
