Replace the stabiliser links on Toyota Aygo AB1 in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Aygo AB1. Take the following steps:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 3
Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Toyota Aygo AB1
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #12.
Step 8
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Remove the stabilizer rod. Use a crowbar.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Aygo AB1. Professionals recommend:
Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
Step 10
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 11
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
Step 12
Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 13
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #12. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.
Step 14
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a drive socket #12. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.
Step 15
Remove the support from under the arm.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Aygo AB1. AUTODOC recommends:
Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.
Step 16
Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.
Step 17
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 18
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Aygo AB1. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 19
Install the wheel.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. Toyota Aygo AB1
Step 20
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 21
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 103 nm torque.
Step 22
Remove the jacks and chocks.
