AUTODOC recommends:

Replace the stabiliser links on Toyota RAV4 II in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
Please note: all work on the car – Toyota RAV4 II – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.

Step 2

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 3

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 4

Raise the car.

Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota RAV4 II. AUTODOC experts recommend:
If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
Step 5

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Toyota RAV4 II
Step 6

Remove the wheel.
Step 7

Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 8

Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the control arm. Use a combination spanner #14. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9

Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #14. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 10

Remove the stabilizer rod.

Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota RAV4 II. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
Step 11

Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 12

Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link.
Step 13

Screw in the sway bar link fasteners. Use a combination spanner #17. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 14

Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 44 Nm torque.
Step 15

Tighten the fastener connecting the sway bar link to the suspension arm. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 44 Nm torque.
Step 16

Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.
Step 17

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
Step 18

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use ceramic grease.
Step 19

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota RAV4 II. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 20

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. Toyota RAV4 II
Step 21

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 22

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 103 Nm torque.
Step 23

Remove the jacks and chocks.
