- A brake hose conveys brake fluid to the actuators
- Road safety directly depends on the serviceability of the hose
- If any damage is revealed, the component must be replaced immediately
- When braking, high pressure builds up inside the hose
- If it is damaged and the brake fluid leaks out, the braking system will fail
- The car will not be able to stop at the right moment

First, locate the brake hoseImportant!Brake hoses are not only located near the calipersThey can also be located on the undercarriage where the brake line is routed - 2.
Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir regularly while working on the vehicle - 3.
You can access the hoses using a jack or car liftPlease note!You can also position the car on a ramp or over an inspection pitIn some vehicles, the wheel does not need to be taken off to remove the brake hose - 4.
Before starting to work, clean the fasteners on the caliper and the car body - 5.
Treat them with penetrating oil and give it a couple of minutes to work - 6.
Clean the work areas with a universal cleanerPlease note!The fastener on the brake caliper is usually easy to unscrewUnscrewing the fastener on the car body often requires some extra force due to corrosion - 7.
There is brake fluid inside the brake hose. To prevent it from leaking, use special stoppers. In this case, there is no need to follow any specific order for disconnecting the elementsAUTODOC recommends:If you are using a regular hose clamp, clamp off the hose at its baseDisconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper and drain any remaining brake fluid out of the hose - 8.
Get acquainted with the design of the component and its fasteners - 9.
Take off the brake caliper and unscrew it from the hose, which stays in place. - 10.
Alternatively, unscrew the brake line fitting and unscrew the hose from the brake caliper. - 11.
Clean the work area of any traces of the penetrating oil to prevent it from getting inside the caliper. - 12.
Prepare a drain pan and unscrew the fastener - 13.
Follow the hose upwards, unscrewing all fasteners one by one - 14.
The last fastener should be the one located on the car body - 15.
Remove the brake hose from its mounting seat by slightly twisting it. - 16.
Take out the hose and put it into the drain pan. - 17.
Unscrew the brake line fitting using a suitable tool - 18.
If the fastener starts to rotate together with the brake pipe, clean the nut and carefully loosen itCaution!Otherwise, this part of the brake line can get damaged and will need to be replaced - 19.
Try turning the fitting a little bit to loosen the threaded connection - 20.
Remove the hose fastener - 21.
Clean the connection and, holding the hose, unscrew the line fitting completely - 22.
Remove the old brake hose from the mounting seat - 23.
After removing the hose from its mounting seat on the subframe, unscrew it from the caliper - 24.
Block off the brake line to prevent fluid leakage - 25.
Check and, if necessary, top up the brake fluid in the reservoir - 26.
Thoroughly clean the mounting seats for the new brake hose - 27.
Install the brake hose. Use new sealing washers
