- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: serpentine belt – TOYOTA YARIS (SCP9_, NSP9_, KSP9_, NCP9_, ZSP9_). Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 4
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 5Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 6
Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: serpentine belt – TOYOTA YARIS (SCP9_, NSP9_, KSP9_, NCP9_, ZSP9_). Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 7
Remove the wheel. - Step 8
Unscrew the fastener of the side plastic cover of the engine. Use a drive socket #10. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 9
Remove the side plastic cover. - Step 10
Clean the tensioner pulley of the V-ribbed belt. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 11
Loosen the tensioner lever of the V-ribbed belt. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #12. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 12
Remove the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – TOYOTA YARIS (SCP9_, NSP9_, KSP9_, NCP9_, ZSP9_). AUTODOC experts recommend:Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary. - Step 13
Install the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – TOYOTA YARIS (SCP9_, NSP9_, KSP9_, NCP9_, ZSP9_). Professionals recommend:Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly. - Step 14
Tighten the tensioner lever of the V-ribbed belt. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.Replacement: serpentine belt – TOYOTA YARIS (SCP9_, NSP9_, KSP9_, NCP9_, ZSP9_). Tip from AUTODOC:Make sure that the V-ribbed belt is properly tensioned. - Step 15
Place the V-ribbed belt on the tensioner pulley.
