- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: serpentine belt – Toyota Prius 2. Take the following steps:
- Step 1
Open the bonnet. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 4
Unscrew the clamp and fasteners on the air filter intake pipe. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 5
Disconnect the air intake pipe from the air filter housing. - Step 6.1
Loosen the tensioner lever of the V-ribbed belt.Step 6.2
Use a combination spanner #12. Use a drive socket #12. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 7
Unscrew the fastener of the side plastic cover of the engine. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Remove the side plastic cover. - Step 9
Remove the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – Toyota Prius 2. AUTODOC experts recommend:Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary. - Step 10
Install the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – Toyota Prius 2. Tip:Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly. - Step 11

Install the side plastic panel.
