- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: wheel bearing – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW)
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the brake drum. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 7Remove the hub bearing protection cap. Use a flat screwdriver. Use a hammer.Replacement: wheel bearing – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). AUTODOC recommends:Some cars are not equipped with wheel hub caps.
- Step 8Clean the fasteners of the wheel hub bearing. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 9Unscrew the hub bearing mounting. Use a drive socket #30.
- Step 10Remove the brake drum.Replacement: wheel bearing – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). Professionals recommend:Examine the brake drum. Replace it if necessary.
- Step 11Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
- Step 12Press out the wheel hub bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 13Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use WD-40 spray.Step 14Press a new bearing into the wheel hub. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: wheel bearing – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the part.
- Step 15Install the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
