How to change rear springs / rear coil springs on TOYOTA AYGO 1 (AB10) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

All the parts you need to replace – Springs for AYGO (WNB1_, KGB1_) and other TOYOTA models

Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Aygo AB1. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- Please note: all work on the car – Toyota Aygo AB1 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Toyota Aygo AB1 - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 7
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 8
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #17. - Step 9
Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Aygo AB1. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms. - Step 10
Detach the lower part of the shock absorber. - Step 11
Pull down the rear suspension beam. Use a crowbar. - Step 12
Take out the spring. - Step 13
Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 14
Pull down the rear suspension beam. Use a crowbar.
