How to change rear springs / rear coil springs on TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO 3 (J120) [AUTODOC]

Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Prado J120. AUTODOC recommends:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. - Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Toyota Prado J120 - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 7
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #17. Use a tap wrench. - Step 8
Detach the lower part of the shock absorber. Use a crowbar. - Step 9
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 10
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabilizer link to the rear suspension beam. Use a combination spanner #12. Use a combination spanner #14. - Step 11
Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Prado J120. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms. - Step 12
Remove the stabiliser link from its mounting seat in the rear suspension beam. - Step 13
Pull down the rear suspension beam. Use a crowbar. - Step 14
Take out the spring.Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Prado J120. Tip from AUTODOC:Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary. - Step 15
Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 16
Treat the mounting seats of the spring. Use copper grease. - Step 17
Pull down the rear suspension beam. Use a crowbar. - Step 18
Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats.
