Replacement: front lower arm – Fiat Bravo 2. AUTODOC recommends:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: front lower arm – Fiat Bravo 2. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: front lower arm – Fiat Bravo 2. Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Unscrew and remove the wheel arch cover fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 7Remove the wheel arch cover.
- Step 8Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 9Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 10Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 11Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a drive socket #21. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 12Unscrew the rear arm fastener. Use a drive socket #19. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 13Remove the fastening bolts (2 pieces).
- Step 14Release the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
- Step 15Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
- Step 16Remove the arm. Use a crowbar.
- Step 17Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 18Install a new arm. Use a pin punch.Replacement: front lower arm – Fiat Bravo 2. AUTODOC experts recommend:During the installation process, use only new bolts and nuts.Do not damage the ball joint cover.
- Step 19Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
- Step 20Install the control arm fasteners.
- Step 21Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.

Lower the car and work in a crisscross pattern, tighten the wheel bolts. - 120Nm
