AUTODOC recommends:

Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your Hyundai Santa Fe CM car.
The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
Please note: all work on the car – Hyundai Santa Fe CM – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 3

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Hyundai Santa Fe CM
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 7

Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8

Remove the brake caliper together with its bracket.

Replacement: wheel bearing – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
Step 9

Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 10

Unscrew the brake disc mounting bolts and remove it. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 11

Remove the cotter pin securing the hub nut. Use nippers.
Step 12

Unscrew the hub nut. Use a drive socket #32. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13

Remove the fastening nut.
Step 14

Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 15

Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 16

Remove the fastening bolt. Use a hammer. Use a pin punch.
Step 17

Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle.

Step 18.1

Unscrew the fastener that connects the wheel hub bearing to the steering knuckle.

Step 18.2

Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 19

Remove the fastening bolts.

Step 20

Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle. Use a hammer.

Step 21

Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit.
Step 22

Clean the wheel hub mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

Step 23

Install the new wheel hub together with the bearing.
Step 24

Install the drive shaft into the wheel hub.

Step 25

Install the fastening bolts.

Step 26.1

Tighten the fastener of the wheel hub bearing.

Step 26.2

Use a combination spanner #14. Use a drive socket #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 50 Nm torque.
Step 27

Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Step 28

Install the fastening bolt. Use a hammer.
Step 29

Screw the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.

Step 30

Tighten the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 98 Nm torque.
Step 31

Install the fastening nut.
Step 32

Tighten the wheel hub nut. Use a drive socket #32. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 195 Nm torque.
Step 33

Install a new hub nut cotter pin. Use nippers. Use a hammer.
Step 34

Treat the hub where it contacts the brake disk. Use copper grease.

Step 35

Install the new brake disc on the hub and screw in the mounting bolts. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 36

Install the brake caliper together with its bracket.
Step 37

Tighten the brake caliper bracket. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 85 Nm torque.
Step 38

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.

Step 39

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 40

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: wheel bearing – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 41

Install the wheel.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. Hyundai Santa Fe CM
Step 42

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 43

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 108 Nm torque.
Step 44

Remove the jacks and chocks.
