How to change a Rear wheel bearing on HYUNDAI SANTA FÉ CM TUTORIAL | AUTODOC
All the parts you need to replace – Wheel Bearing for SANTA FÉ II (CM) and other HYUNDAI models
Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your Hyundai Santa Fe CM car.
The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
Please note: all work on the car – Hyundai Santa Fe CM – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Hyundai Santa Fe CM
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7
Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8
Remove the brake caliper together with its bracket.
Replacement: wheel bearing – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. Tip from AUTODOC:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
Step 9
Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10
Unscrew the brake disc mounting bolts and remove it. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 11
Detach the ABS sensor connector.
Step 12
Unscrew the fastener that connects the wheel hub bearing to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 14
Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit.
Step 15
Clean the wheel hub mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 16
Install the new wheel hub together with the bearing.
Step 17
Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 18
Tighten the fastener of the wheel hub bearing. Use a drive socket #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 85 Nm torque.
Step 19
Treat the ABS sensor connector. Use dielectric grease.
Step 20
Attach the ABS sensor connector.
Step 21
Install the new brake disc on the hub and screw in the mounting bolts. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 22
Install the brake caliper together with its bracket.
Step 23
Tighten the brake caliper bracket. Use a drive socket #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 80 Nm torque.
Step 24
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
Step 25
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 26
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: wheel bearing – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 27
Install the wheel.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. Hyundai Santa Fe CM
Step 28
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 29
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 108 Nm torque.
Step 30
Remove the jacks and chocks.
