- Replace the stabiliser links on FORD MONDEO III (B5Y) in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – FORD MONDEO III (B5Y) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. FORD MONDEO III (B5Y) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Remove the stabiliser link.Replacement: anti roll bar links – FORD MONDEO III (B5Y). Tip from AUTODOC:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed. - Step 10
Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 11
Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link. - Step 12
Tighten the stabiliser link fastener. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 13
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 48 Nm torque.
