Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT DOBLO Platform/Chassis (263). AUTODOC recommends:

The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT DOBLO Platform/Chassis (263). Recommended sequence of steps:

Step 1

Open the hood.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Disconnect the air intake pipe from the air filter housing.
Step 4

Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 5

Release the air filter cover clips.
Step 6

Remove the air filter housing.
Step 7

Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 8

Remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells. Use pincers.

Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT DOBLO Platform/Chassis (263). AUTODOC experts recommend:
Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the sequence of the spark plug wires connectors.
Step 9

Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
Step 10

Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11

Take out the spark plugs.
Step 12

Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
Step 13

Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats. Use the spark plug socket #16.
Step 14

Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.

Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT DOBLO Platform/Chassis (263). AUTODOC recommends:
Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
Step 15

Install the spark plug wire connectors into the spark plug wells. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.

Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT DOBLO Platform/Chassis (263). Professionals recommend:
Follow the installation sequence.
Step 16

Remove the microfibre towel from the throttle body.
Step 17

Reinstall the air filter housing.

AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure the air filter body is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the air intake hose of the throttle body and the guiding fasteners.
Step 18

Screw in the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 19

Press the air filter cover clips into place.
Step 20

Connect the air intake pipe to the air filter housing.

Step 21

Remove the fender protection cover.

Step 22

Close the hood.

Step 23

Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.

Step 24

Shut off the engine.
