Replacement: engine mounts – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine mounts – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Unscrew the fasteners of the coolant reservoir. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 4Release the coolant reservoir retainers. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 5Remove the coolant reservoir.
- Step 6Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a jack.
- Step 7Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Unscrew the fasteners that connect the engine mount to the car body. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 10Remove the engine mount.Replacement: engine mounts – FORD FOCUS Saloon (DFW). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Carefully check the other engine mounts and replace them if necessary.
- Step 11Clean the mounting seat of the engine mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 12Install the engine mount to its mounting seat.
- Step 13Raise the jack by 10–15 cm.
- Step 14Screw in the fasteners that connect the engine mount to the car body. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
