- Replace the stabiliser links on TOYOTA HILUX Pickup (GUN1_) in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – TOYOTA HILUX Pickup (GUN1_). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. - Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. TOYOTA HILUX Pickup (GUN1_) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabilizer link to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use HEX No.H6. - Step 8
Detach the stabilizer link from the steering knuckle. - Step 9
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use HEX No.H6. - Step 10
Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – TOYOTA HILUX Pickup (GUN1_). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed. - Step 11
Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease. - Step 12
Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link. - Step 13
Attach the stabilizer link to the steering knuckle.
