Replacement: ABS sensor – FORD TRANSIT MK-7 Platform/Chassis. Tools you'll need:

                        A wire brush
                      
                        WD-40 spray
                      
                        An all-purpose cleaning spray
                      
                        Ceramic grease
                      
                        An electronic spray
                      
                        A torque wrench
                      
                        An 8 mm socket
                      
                        A 21 mm wheel impact socket
                      
                        A ratchet wrench
                      
                        A tommy bar
                      
                        A plastic trim removal tool
                      
                        A clip removal tool
                      
                        A fender cover
                      
                        Wheel chocks

Replacement: ABS sensor – FORD TRANSIT MK-7 Platform/Chassis. AUTODOC recommends:

All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.

Replacement: ABS sensor – FORD TRANSIT MK-7 Platform/Chassis. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 4

Loosen the wheel nuts. Use a 21 mm wheel impact socket. Use a tommy bar.
Step 5

Raise the car.

Warning!
If you are using a jack, make sure the car is parked on a flat, even surface.Make sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
Step 6

Unscrew the wheel nuts.

Caution!
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. FORD TRANSIT MK-7 Platform/Chassis
Step 7

Remove the wheel.
Step 8

Detach the ABS sensor connector.
Step 9

Detach the ABS sensor wiring. Use a plastic trim removal tool. Use a clip removal tool.
Step 10

Clean the ABS sensor fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 11

Unscrew the ABS sensor fastener. Use an 8 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 12

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 13

Remove the ABS sensor.
Step 14

Clean the mounting seat of the ABS sensor. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 15

Install a new ABS sensor.

Replacement: ABS sensor – FORD TRANSIT MK-7 Platform/Chassis. Tip:
To prevent the sensor from sticking, apply some grease to its mounting seat before installing it.
Step 16

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 17

Tighten the ABS sensor fastener. Use an 8 mm socket. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 11 N·m.
Step 18

Secure the ABS sensor wiring.
Step 19

Treat the ABS sensor connector. Use an electronic spray.
Step 20

Attach the ABS sensor connector.
Step 21

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 22

Treat the wheel hub surface that contacts the wheel rim. Use ceramic grease.
Step 23

Install the wheel.

Caution!
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing on the fastening nuts.
Step 24

Screw on the wheel nuts. Use a 21 mm wheel impact socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 25

Lower the car and tighten the wheel nuts in a criss-cross order. Use a 21 mm wheel impact socket. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 200 N·m.
Step 26

Remove the jack and wheel chocks.

Step 27

Remove the fender cover.

Step 28

Close the bonnet.
