- A bonnet can have either one or two struts
- Replace gas struts in pairs as they have the same service life
- 1.To remove the gas strut, pull the retaining clip upPlease note! Each strut has two fasteners and is secured to the ball joint with a retaining clipThe struts that have mounting brackets mirror each other and so are not interchangeable
- 2.Ask an assistant to hold the bonnet during replacement to avoid injury
- 3.If this is not possible, place the new struts and the tools you'll need within arm’s reach before you start
- 4.Hold the bonnet with one hand and pull up the gas strut clips with the other
- 5.Remove the gas strut and clean its mounting seats
