PEUGEOT service and maintenance manuals

DIY repair and maintenance of your Peugeot 207

Engine

  • The seals of diesel engine fuel injectors get leaky at a mileage higher than 100,000 kilometres. This leads to increased fuel consumption. The seals should be replaced by specialists, but you can refill oil or install new glow plugs yourself. Simply follow our instructions on Peugeot 207 repair and maintenance step by step.
  • In  1.6-litre HDi diesel engines, the turbine can jam due to clogging of an oil supply channel to the turbocharger. This causes engine oil to leak  and engine power to decrease. Have the turbocharger serviced by specialists at a garage.
  • The cylinder head gasket wears out early. It can be replaced at a garage. Carefully inspect the unit for leakage of oil or coolant during DIY Peugeot 207 repair and maintenance.

Transmission

  • Problems with engaging the 5th and reverse gears are common in models with manual transmission. This occurs due to premature wear of the cables. We recommend you have them replaced as a kit at a garage.
  • Gearbox seals get worn out fast, causing oil leakage. Bring your car to a mechanic for component replacement. Check the condition of the transmission fluid and replace it in due time by following our video guide.

Electric equipment

  • Low beam bulbs burn out fast. Our illustrated PDF manual on Peugeot 207 repair will help you to replace them with more durable ones. Use only the bulbs recommended by the car manufacturer.
  • Dashboard indicators can malfunction. In most cases this is caused by a broken wiring harness or CAN bus. Contact a specialist to have the defect repaired.
  • The luggage compartment lock, central lock, and electric window raisers are vulnerable to failure. You can replace a broken lock or window drive elements in your garage, while the central lock can be fixed by professionals.

Cabin

  • The seat upholstery tends to wear. Use seat covers to keep the cabin looking like new.
  • In hatchback models, water can enter the cabin as a result of condensation in the cabin filter and settle in the front passenger footwell. Ignoring the problem results in damage to the floor carpet. Replace the cabin filter in due time once you’ve downloaded our step-by-step instructions on Peugeot 207 repair for free. We recommend doing this twice a year before autumn and spring.
