When do I need to replace the windscreen wiper blades?
On average once a year, but if the components mounted on your car are of poor quality, the washer malfunctions, and the car isn’t cared for properly, replacement may be required earlier. The signs of faulty parts are uncleaned areas on the windscreen, water smears due to vibration, and abnormal sounds when the wipers are operating. Change the blades if you notice chips and cracks on the surface of the parts or if the rubber element is partially peeled off.
Is it easy to replace the wiper blades?
The wiper blade replacement procedure is not complicated. You can easily handle it yourself. All you need to do is to pull the wiper arms away from the glass, remove the old blades and replace them with the new ones. It’s a good idea to cover the windscreen with a soft cloth to prevent it from being damaged in case the wiper arm return spring activates.
Which manufacturers make reliable windscreen wiper blades?
Currently, quality wiper blades are made by Bosch, Denso, Valeo, Champion, and others. Their products are not only reliable, but also provide novel technological solutions. For example, a special coating that reduces the friction between the blade and glass, or a spoiler that improves the aerodynamics.
