How to change spark plug on NISSAN MICRA K12 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: spark plugs – Nissan Micra K12. Professionals recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
- Please note: all work on the car – Nissan Micra K12 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Disconnect the fastener of the air intake hose. Use a clip removal tool.
- Step 4Remove the air intake hose.
- Step 5Release the air filter housing retainers.Replacement: spark plugs – Nissan Micra K12. Tip:The air filter housing is built into the engine cover.
- Step 6Detach the air filter housing.
- Step 7Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
- Step 8Move the air filter housing aside.
- Step 9Detach the connectors from the engine cover. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 10Loosen the clamps and detach the hoses from the engine cover. Use long nose pliers.
- Step 11Unscrew the fasteners of the upper engine cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 13Remove the upper engine cover.
- Step 14Cover the intake channels of the engine with a microfibre cloth to prevent dust and dirt from getting inside.
- Step 15Unscrew the fasteners of the lower engine cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 16Remove the fastening bolts.Step 17Remove the lower engine cover.
- Step 18Unplug the connectors from the ignition coils.
- Step 19Unscrew the fasteners of the ignition coils. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 20Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 21Take out the ignition coils from the spark plug wells.
- Step 22Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
- Step 23Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 24Take out the spark plugs.
- Step 25Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
- Step 26Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats.
- Step 27Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.Replacement: spark plugs – Nissan Micra K12. AUTODOC experts recommend:Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
- Step 28Install the ignition coils to the spark plug wells.
