Replacement: wheel bearing – TOYOTA AURIS TOURING SPORTS (ADE18_, ZWE18_, ZRE18_). AUTODOC recommends:

Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your TOYOTA AURIS TOURING SPORTS (ADE18_, ZWE18_, ZRE18_) car.
The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: wheel bearing – TOYOTA AURIS TOURING SPORTS (ADE18_, ZWE18_, ZRE18_). Take the following steps:

Step 1

Clean the wheel hub fastener. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 2

Unstake the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a pin punch. Use a hammer.
Step 3

Loosen the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a drive socket #30. Use a tap wrench.
Step 4

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 5

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.

Step 6

Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 7

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. TOYOTA AURIS TOURING SPORTS (ADE18_, ZWE18_, ZRE18_)
Step 8

Remove the wheel.
Step 9

Unscrew the fastener connecting the drive shaft to the wheel hub. Use a drive socket #30. Use a tap wrench.
Step 10

Treat the splines of the driveshaft CV joint. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 11

Remove the drive shaft. Use a pin punch. Use a hammer.
Step 12

Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
Step 13

Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 14

Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use a drive socket #17. Use a tap wrench.
Step 15

Remove the caliper bracket.

Replacement: wheel bearing – TOYOTA AURIS TOURING SPORTS (ADE18_, ZWE18_, ZRE18_). Professionals recommend:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.
Step 16

Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 17

Remove the brake disc.
Step 18

Clean the fasteners of the wheel hub bearing. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 19

Unscrew the hub bearing mounting. Use a drive socket #17. Use a tap wrench.
Step 20

Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit. Use the hub slide hammer puller.
Step 21

Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 22

Install the new wheel hub with a bearing.
Step 23

Tighten the wheel hub bearing fasteners. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 24

Tighten the fastener of the wheel hub bearing. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 90 nm torque.
Step 25

Mount the drive shaft into the wheel hub.
Step 26

Treat the splines of the driveshaft CV joint. Use copper grease.
Step 27

Screw the nut of the drive shaft. Use a drive socket #30. Use a tap wrench.
Step 28

Treat the hub where it contacts the brake disk. Use copper grease.
Step 29

Install the brake disc.
Step 30

Clean the mounting seats of the caliper and its bracket. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 31

Install the brake caliper bracket.
Step 32

Tighten the brake caliper bracket. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 88 nm torque.
Step 33

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a wire brush.
Step 34

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 35

Install the wheel.

Replacement: wheel bearing – TOYOTA AURIS TOURING SPORTS (ADE18_, ZWE18_, ZRE18_). AUTODOC experts recommend:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 36

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 37

Lower the car.
Step 38

Tighten the drive shaft nut. Use a drive socket #30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 216 nm torque.
Step 39

Restake the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
Step 40

Tighten the wheel bolts using a criss-cross pattern. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 103 Nm torque.
Step 41

Remove the jacks and chocks.
