How to change rear wheel bearing / rear hub bearing on TOYOTA AURIS 1 (E150) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: wheel bearing – Toyota Auris E15. AUTODOC recommends:
- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your Toyota Auris E15 car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: wheel bearing – Toyota Auris E15. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: wheel bearing – Toyota Auris E15. Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Detach the parking brake cable from the bracket on the brake caliper. Use water pump pliers.
- Step 8Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use a combination spanner #14. Use a combination spanner #17.
- Step 9Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.Step 10Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: wheel bearing – Toyota Auris E15. AUTODOC experts recommend:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
- Step 11Remove the brake pads.
- Step 12Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use a drive socket #14. Use a tap wrench. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Remove the caliper bracket.
- Step 15Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 16Remove the brake disc. Use a rubber mallet.
- Step 17Clean the wheel hub fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 18Clean the ABS sensor connector. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 19Detach the ABS sensor connector. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 20Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring.
- Step 21Unscrew the hub bearing mounting. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 22Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit. Use the hub slide hammer puller.
- Step 23Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
- Step 24Install the new wheel hub with a bearing.
- Step 25Tighten the fastener of the wheel hub bearing. Use a drive socket #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 90 nm torque.Replacement: wheel bearing – Toyota Auris E15. Tip from AUTODOC experts:The wheel bearing unit must not tilt on the axle pin.
