How to change rear springs / rear coil springs on TOYOTA AURIS 1 (E150)[TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Auris E15. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Auris E15. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Toyota Auris E15
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 7Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Auris E15. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
- Step 10Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 11Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 12Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 14Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Toyota Auris E15 – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car.
- Step 15Take out the spring.Replacement: coil springs – Toyota Auris E15. Professionals recommend:Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary.
- Step 16Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats.
- Step 18Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 19Install the fastening bolt.
- Step 20Raise the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.
