How to change Rear Springs on HYUNDAI SANTA FÉ CM TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Replacement: coil springs – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. AUTODOC recommends:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- Please note: all work on the car – Hyundai Santa Fe CM – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Hyundai Santa Fe CM
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 7Clean the control arm fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 8Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the front fastener of the control arm.Step 10Detach the control arm.Step 11Remove the support from under the arm.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
- Step 12Pull down the suspension control arm. Use a crowbar.
- Step 13Take out the spring.
- Step 14Remove the rubber spring spacer.Replacement: coil springs – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. Professionals recommend:Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary.Step 15Install the rubber spacer on the new coil spring.
- Step 16Pull down the suspension control arm. Use a crowbar.Step 17Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats.
