Replacement: engine mounts – MERCEDES-BENZ CLS (C219). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine mounts – MERCEDES-BENZ CLS (C219). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 4Unscrew the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 5Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 6Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 7Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Remove the oil pan cover.
- Step 9Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 10Unscrew the lower fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 11Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 12Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 13Remove the engine mount.Replacement: engine mounts – MERCEDES-BENZ CLS (C219). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Carefully check the other engine mounts and replace them if necessary.
- Step 14Clean the mounting seat of the engine mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 15Install the engine mount to its mounting seat.
- Step 16Install the fastening bolt.
