All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: engine mounts – Mercedes W211. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.
Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 4

Unscrew the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 5

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 6

Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
Step 7

Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8

Remove the oil pan cover.
Step 9

Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10

Unscrew the lower fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 12

Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 13

Remove the engine mount.

Replacement: engine mounts – Mercedes W211. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Carefully check the other engine mounts and replace them if necessary.
Step 14

Clean the mounting seat of the engine mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 15

Install the engine mount to its mounting seat.
Step 16

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 17

Screw in the lower fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 18

Remove the hydraulic transmission jack.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine mounts – Mercedes W211. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 19

Tighten the lower fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 50 Nm torque.
Step 20

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 21

Screw in the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 22

Tighten the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 50 Nm torque.

Step 23

Reinstall the oil pan lower cover.
Step 24

Tighten the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 25

Lower the car.
Step 26

Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 27

Close the hood.
