Replacement: engine mounts – Mercedes W211. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine mounts – Mercedes W211. Use the following procedure:
- Step 1
Open the bonnet. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 4
Unscrew the upper fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 5
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 6
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit. - Step 7
Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Remove the oil pan cover. - Step 9
Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 10
Unscrew the lower fastener of the engine mount. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 11
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 12
Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 13
Remove the engine mount.Replacement: engine mounts – Mercedes W211. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Carefully check the other engine mounts and replace them if necessary. - Step 14
Clean the mounting seat of the engine mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 15
Install the engine mount to its mounting seat. - Step 16
Install the fastening bolt.
