- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition leads – VW GOLF III (1H1). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Unscrew the air filter housing fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 4
Remove the air filter housing. - Step 5
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system. - Step 6
Detach the spark plug wire bracket. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 7
Make marks on the distributor cap to indicate the installation order of the spark plug wires. - Step 8
Disconnect the spark plug wires from the distributor cap.Replacement: ignition leads – VW GOLF III (1H1). Tip:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires. - Step 9
Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs. Use long nose pliers.Replacement: ignition leads – VW GOLF III (1H1). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires. - Step 10
Disconnect the high voltage wire. - Step 11
Connect new spark plug wires to the distributor cap.Replacement: ignition leads – VW GOLF III (1H1). AUTODOC recommends:Follow the installation sequence.
