Distributor Cap
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- Thoroughly inspect the ignition distributor assembly. Replace any worn parts.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
- Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Make marks on the distributor cap to indicate the installation order of the spark plug wires.
- Step 4
Disconnect the spark plug wires from the distributor cap.
Replacement: distributor cap – VW GOLF III (1H1). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.
- Step 5
Release the distributor cap clips. Use a crowbar.
- Step 6
Remove the distributor cap.

Install a new distributor cap.
