Replacement: anti roll bar links – NISSAN X-TRAIL (T31). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Replace the stabiliser links on NISSAN X-TRAIL (T31) in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – NISSAN X-TRAIL (T31) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. - Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: anti roll bar links – NISSAN X-TRAIL (T31). Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a combination spanner #21. - Step 9
Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – NISSAN X-TRAIL (T31). AUTODOC recommends:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed. - Step 10
Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 11
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
