Replacement: windscreen washer pump – FORD TRANSIT TOURNEO. AUTODOC recommends:
- All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.
Replacement: windscreen washer pump – FORD TRANSIT TOURNEO. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 4Loosen the wheel nuts. Use a 21 mm wheel impact socket. Use a tommy bar.
- Step 5Raise the car.Warning!If you are using a jack, make sure the car is parked on a hard, flat surface.Make sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 6Unscrew the wheel nuts.Replacement: windscreen washer pump – FORD TRANSIT TOURNEO. Tip from AUTODOC experts:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the nuts.
- Step 7Remove the wheel.
- Step 8Clean the fastener of the windscreen washer reservoir's plastic cover. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 9Unscrew the fastening bolt of the windscreen washer reservoir's cover. Use a 10 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 10Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 11Remove the windscreen washer reservoir's cover.
- Step 12Clean the windscreen washer pump. Use a nylon brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 13Detach the connector from the windscreen washer pump. Use a mounting lever.
- Step 14Put a container under the windscreen washer pump.
- Step 15Detach the windscreen washer hose. Use hose removal pliers.
- Step 16Remove the windscreen washer pump. Use hose removal pliers.
- Step 17Remove the washer pump seal. Use a mounting lever.
- Step 18Clean the mounting seat of the windscreen washer pump. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 19Install a new washer pump seal.
- Step 20Install a new windscreen washer pump.
- Step 21Attach the windscreen washer hose.
