How to change air filter on TOYOTA RAV 4 3 (XA30) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

                        Drive socket # 10
                      
                        Ratchet wrench
                      
                        Microfibre towel
                      
                        Fender cover

Replacement: air filter – Toyota RAV4 III. AUTODOC experts recommend:

Please note: all work on the car – Toyota RAV4 III – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.
Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Release the air filter cover clips.
Step 4

Slightly raise the cover of the air filter housing.
Step 5

Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 6

Unscrew the clamp and fasteners on the air filter intake pipe. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 7

Disconnect the air intake pipe from the air filter housing.
Step 8

Take off the filter lid.

Step 9

Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 10

Clean the air filter cover and housing.

Replacement: air filter – Toyota RAV4 III. Professionals recommend:
Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
Step 11

Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.

Step 12

Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.

Check out the correct location of the filter element. Do not skew.Toyota RAV4 III – It's important to only use high-quality filters.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
Step 13

Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.
Step 14

Connect the air intake pipe to the air filter housing.
Step 15

Fasten the clamp on the air intake hose. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 16

Press the air filter cover clips into place.
Step 17

Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 18

Close the hood.
