How to change spark plug on RENAULT CLIO 2 (C65) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Spark Plug for CLIO II (BB0/1/2_, CB0/1/2_) and other RENAULT models
Replacement: spark plugs – Renault Clio 2. AUTODOC recommends:
The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – Renault Clio 2.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Remove the engine cover.
Step 4
Remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells. Use round-nose pliers.
Replacement: spark plugs – Renault Clio 2. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the sequence of the spark plug wires connectors.
Step 5
Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
Step 6
Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16.
Step 7
Take out the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16.
Step 8
Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
Step 9
Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats. Use the spark plug socket #16.
Step 10
Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 28 nm torque.
Replacement: spark plugs – Renault Clio 2. Professionals recommend:
Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
Step 11
Treat the spark plug wire connectors.
Use high-temperature grease.
Step 12
Install the spark plug wire connectors into the spark plug wells. Use round-nose pliers. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.

Step 13
Install the engine cover and secure it. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Replacement: spark plugs – Renault Clio 2. Tip:
Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners and the throttle body air intake hose.Do not apply excessive force when installing the part. Otherwise you may damage the fasteners.
Step 14
Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 15
Shut off the engine.
Step 16
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 17
Close the hood.
