Replacement: spark plugs – NISSAN JUKE (F15). Professionals recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
- Please note: all work on the car – NISSAN JUKE (F15) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Disconnect the fastener of the air intake hose. Use a clip removal tool. - Step 4
Remove the air intake hose. - Step 5
Release the air filter housing retainers.Replacement: spark plugs – NISSAN JUKE (F15). Tip:The air filter housing is built into the engine cover. - Step 6
Detach the air filter housing. - Step 7
Remove the filter element from the filter housing. - Step 8
Move the air filter housing aside. - Step 9
Detach the connectors from the engine cover. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 10
Loosen the clamps and detach the hoses from the engine cover. Use long nose pliers. - Step 11
Unscrew the fasteners of the upper engine cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 12
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 13
Remove the upper engine cover. - Step 14
Cover the intake channels of the engine with a microfibre cloth to prevent dust and dirt from getting inside. - Step 15
Unscrew the fasteners of the lower engine cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 16Remove the fastening bolts.Step 17
Remove the lower engine cover. - Step 18
Unplug the connectors from the ignition coils. - Step 19
Unscrew the fasteners of the ignition coils. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 20
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 21
Take out the ignition coils from the spark plug wells. - Step 22
Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells. - Step 23
Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 24
Take out the spark plugs. - Step 25
Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs. - Step 26
Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats. - Step 27
Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.Replacement: spark plugs – NISSAN JUKE (F15). AUTODOC experts recommend:Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection. - Step 28
Install the ignition coils to the spark plug wells.
