How to change rear wheel bearing on SUZUKI SWIFT 3 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Wheel Bearing for SWIFT III (MZ, EZ) and other SUZUKI models
Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your Suzuki Swift MK3 car.
The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
Please note: all work on the car – Suzuki Swift MK3 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Suzuki Swift MK3
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Remove the hub bearing protection cap. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer. Use a flat screwdriver.
Please note!
Some cars are not equipped with wheel hub caps.
Step 7
Clean the wheel hub fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 8
Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut. Use a drive socket #30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Remove the brake drum assembled with the wheel hub bearing.
Replacement: wheel bearing – Suzuki Swift MK3. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Examine the brake drum. Replace it if necessary.
Step 10
Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
Step 11
Press out the wheel hub bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
Step 12
Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 13
Press fit the new wheel hub bearing into the brake drum. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.
Replacement: wheel bearing – Suzuki Swift MK3. Professionals recommend:
Check to make sure the wheel hub bearing is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment. Stop pressing on the surface of the bearing immediately after it has been fitted into its mounting seat.
Step 14
Clean the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 15
Install the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
Step 16
Install the brake drum assembled with the wheel hub bearing.
Step 17
Tighten the hub. Use a drive socket #30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 175 Nm torque.
Step 18
Restake the wheel hub retaining nut. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
Step 19
Install the hub bearing protection cap. Use a rubber mallet.
Step 20
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
Step 21
Treat the surface where the wheel rim contacts the brake drum. Use copper grease.
Step 22
Install the wheel.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. Suzuki Swift MK3
Step 23
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 24
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 85 nm torque.
Step 25
Remove the jacks and chocks.
