How to change rear shock absorber on RENAULT CLIO 2 (C65) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: shock absorbers – Renault Clio 2. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Both shock absorbers of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: shock absorbers – Renault Clio 2. Use the following procedure:
- Step 1
Open the boot lid. - Step 2
Remove the mount cap from the shock absorber upper fastener. - Step 3
Clean the fasteners of the shock absorber upper mount. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 4
Loosen the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #17. Use a shock absorber socket DD№6. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 5
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 6
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 7
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 8
Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: shock absorbers – Renault Clio 2. Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 9
Remove the wheel. - Step 10
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 11
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 12
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #18. Use a tap wrench. - Step 13
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 14
Detach the lower part of the shock absorber. - Step 15
Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #17.Replacement: shock absorbers – Renault Clio 2. AUTODOC recommends:To avoid injuries, hold the shock absorber when undoing the fastening bolts. - Step 16
Remove the shock absorber. - Step 17
Remove the shock absorber mount, boot and bump stop.Replacement: shock absorbers – Renault Clio 2. AUTODOC experts recommend:Τhoroughly examine the shock absorber mount, dust boot, bump stop. Replace them if necessary.Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times. - Step 18
Install the mount, the boot and the bump stop on the shock absorber. - Step 19
Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the shock absorber while screwing in the fastening bolts. Renault Clio 2 - Step 20
Screw the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Do not tighten it. - Step 21
Attach the lower part of the shock absorber.
