- Please note: all work on the car – ALFA ROMEO GT (937) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. ALFA ROMEO GT (937) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: rear lower arm – ALFA ROMEO GT (937). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Wear protective goggles.Wear a respirator. - Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the control arm to the rear knuckle. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a drive socket #19. Use a tap wrench. - Step 8
Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Replacement: rear lower arm – ALFA ROMEO GT (937). Professionals recommend:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Wear protective goggles.Wear a respirator. - Step 9
Unscrew the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the car body. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 10
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 11
Remove the arm. - Step 12
Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 13
Install a new arm.Replacement: rear lower arm – ALFA ROMEO GT (937). Tip from AUTODOC experts:During the installation process, use only new bolts and nuts. - Step 14
Install the fastening bolts. - Step 15
Screw the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the car body. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 16
Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
