Replacement: coil springs – Nissan Micra K12. Professionals recommend:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – Nissan Micra K12. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a tap wrench. - Step 3
Raise the car.Replacement: coil springs – Nissan Micra K12. AUTODOC recommends:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands. - Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 8
Unscrew the lower fasteners of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 10
Remove the support from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Nissan Micra K12 – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car. - Step 11
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 12
Unscrew the lower fasteners of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 13
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 14Remove the support from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Do not lower the transmission jack too much to avoid damaging the brake hoses.Step 15
Remove the springs. - Step 16
Clean the springs’ mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 17
Install the new springs together with the rubber mounts in their mounting seats. - Step 18Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.Step 19
Install the fastening bolt. - Step 20
Screw in the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.AUTODOC recommends:For tightening the fasteners correctly, you have to jack up the suspension components to their working position. - Step 21
Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 100 Nm torque.
