- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition coil – FORD FIESTA VI. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: ignition coil – FORD FIESTA VI. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it. - Step 4
Detach the connector from the ignition coil. - Step 5
Make marks to indicate the order of installation of the spark plug wires. - Step 6
Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil.AUTODOC recommends:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the position of the spark plug wires. - Step 7
Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use Torx T20. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Remove the ignition coil. - Step 9
Install a new ignition coil. - Step 10
Tighten the ignition coil fastening. Use Torx T20. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 8 nm torque.
