How to change fuel filter on HYUNDAI SANTA FÉ CM TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Please note: all work on the car – Hyundai Santa Fe CM – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Detach the fuel pressure sensor connector. Use fuel line pliers. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 4
Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 5
Squeeze the clips and detach the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter housing. Use fuel line pliers. Use a flat screwdriver.
Replacement: fuel filter – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. Professionals recommend:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 6
Unscrew the fuel filter bracket fixing bolts. Use a combination spanner #19.
Step 7
Remove the fuel filter together with its bracket.
Step 8
Unscrew the water-in-fuel sensor.
Step 9
Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 10
Unscrew the fuel filter bracket. Use the 76-14 F socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11
Remove the fuel filter fastening bracket. Remove the fuel filter.

Step 12
Install a new fuel filter. Install the fuel filter fastening bracket.

Step 13
Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use the 76-14 F socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 14
Install the new fuel filter together with its bracket.
Step 15
Screw in the water-in-fuel sensor.
Step 16
Screw the fixing bolts of the fuel filter bracket. Use a combination spanner #19.
Step 17
Clean the fuel filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 18
Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter and lock the fastening clips.
Step 19
Attach the fuel pressure sensor connector.
Step 20
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 21
Close the hood.
Replacement: fuel filter – Hyundai Santa Fe CM. Tip:
Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 22
Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.

Shut off the engine.
