- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 4Raise the car.Replacement: wheel bearing – PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_). Tip:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Clean the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 8Remove the cotter pin. Use a crowbar.
- Step 9Remove the circlip.
- Step 10Loosen the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a drive socket #36. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 11Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 12Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 15Remove the brake caliper together with its bracket.Replacement: wheel bearing – PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_). AUTODOC experts recommend:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
- Step 16Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Unscrew the brake disc fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 18Remove the fastening bolts.Step 19Remove the brake disc.
- Step 20Clean the fastener that connects the brake hose bracket to the suspension strut. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 21Unscrew the fastener that connects the brake hose bracket to the suspension strut. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 22Remove the brake hose bracket.
- Step 23Clean the lower fastener connecting the suspension strut to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 24Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 25Unscrew the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 26Remove the fastening bolt.Step 27Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 28Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 29Clean the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 30Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 31Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
- Step 32Prop up the steering knuckle. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 33Release the fastener that connects the control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
- Step 34Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar.
- Step 35Unscrew the fastener connecting the drive shaft to the wheel hub.
- Step 36Remove the fastening nut.Step 37Remove the support from under the steering knuckle.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_)Step 38Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle.AUTODOC recommends:Make sure that the drive shaft is not unloaded (when the car is jacked).
- Step 39Release the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.Step 40Disconnect the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut.Step 41Remove the steering knuckle together with the wheel hub.
- Step 42Clean the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 43Remove the hub from the steering knuckle. Bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 44Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
- Step 45Dismantle the inner bearing race that is remaining on the hub. Bush and bearing driver set. Use a bearing separator.
- Step 46Press out the wheel hub bearing. Bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 47Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 48Press the new bearing in the steering knuckle. Bush and bearing driver set.Replacement: wheel bearing – PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_). AUTODOC experts recommend:Check to make sure the wheel hub bearing is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment. Stop pressing on the surface of the bearing immediately after it has been fitted into its mounting seat.
- Step 49Install the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
- Step 50Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 51Install the wheel hub on the steering knuckle. Bush and bearing driver set.Replacement: wheel bearing – PEUGEOT Partner Origin Combispace (G_). AUTODOC recommends:Make sure that the wheel hub is positioned correctly. Avoid any misalignment.
- Step 52Clean the mounting seats of the shock strut. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 53Clean the splines of the drive shaft CV joint. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 54Clean the ball joint. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
