Replacement: wheel bearing – PEUGEOT PARTNER Box (5). Tip from AUTODOC:
- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your PEUGEOT PARTNER Box (5) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – PEUGEOT PARTNER Box (5) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT PARTNER Box (5)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 8Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use Torx T55. Use a tap wrench. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the fastening bolts (2 pieces).Step 10Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor plug.
- Step 11Remove the brake caliper together with its bracket.Replacement: wheel bearing – PEUGEOT PARTNER Box (5). Professionals recommend:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
- Step 12Take out the retainer clip and move the brake hose out of the bracket on the shock strut. Use round-nose pliers.
- Step 13Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring. Use a crowbar.
- Step 14Unscrew the ABS sensor wiring bracket. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 15Remove the bracket from the suspension strut.
- Step 16Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Unscrew the brake disc fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 18Remove the brake disc.
- Step 19Clean the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 20Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 21Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
- Step 22Clean the fastener that connects the suspension arm to the ball joint. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 23Unscrew the fastener that connects the suspension arm to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 24Disconnect the lower control arm from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller. Use a crowbar.
- Step 25Remove the cotter pin securing the hub nut. Use round-nose pliers. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 26Clean the wheel hub fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 27Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut. Use a drive socket #36. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 28Remove the fastening nut.Step 29Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle. Use a pin punch. Use a hammer.
- Step 30Unscrew the fastener connecting the ABS sensor to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 31Remove the ABS sensor from the steering knuckle.
- Step 32Clean the lower fastener connecting the suspension strut to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 33Unscrew the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 34Remove the fastening bolt.Step 35Disconnect the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut. Use a hammer.Step 36Remove the steering knuckle together with the hub.
- Step 37Remove the wheel hub from the steering knuckle. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.
- Step 38Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use round-nose pliers.
- Step 39Press out the wheel hub bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 40Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 41Treat the mounting seat of the bearing assembly. Use a multipurpose grease.Step 42Press the new bearing in the steering knuckle. Use a bush and bearing driver set.AUTODOC recommends:Check to make sure the wheel hub bearing is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment. Stop pressing on the surface of the bearing immediately after it has been fitted into its mounting seat.
- Step 43Install the retaining ring on the steering knuckle. Use round-nose pliers.
- Step 44Dismantle the inner bearing race that is remaining on the hub. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a bearing separator.Step 45Treat the wheel hub mounting seat. Use a multipurpose grease.Step 46Install the wheel hub on the steering knuckle. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 47Treat the shock strut mounting seat on the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 48Install the steering knuckle with a hub in assembly.
- Step 49Support the steering knuckle.
- Step 50Fix the shock absorber strut on the steering knuckle. Use a hammer.
