Replacement: ball joint – SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2). AUTODOC experts recommend:

The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right ball joints.
Please note: all work on the car – SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

Replacement: ball joint – SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2). Tip:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7

Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #18.
Step 8

Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the suspension control arm. Use a drive socket #13. Use a tap wrench.
Step 9

Disconnect the spherical joint from the arm.
Step 10

Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar. Use a ball joint puller.
Step 11

Remove the ball joint.
Step 12

Clean the ball joint mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 13

Install a new ball joint.

Replacement: ball joint – SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2). Tip from AUTODOC:
Do not damage the ball joint cover.
Step 14

Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Step 15

Screw the fasteners of the ball joint. Use a combination spanner #19.
Step 16

Attach the ball joint to the control arm.
Step 17

Screw the fasteners of the ball joint. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 18

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 20 Nm torque.+90°

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Be sure to use new fasteners.
Step 19

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 45 Nm torque.+90°

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Be sure to use new fasteners.
Step 20

Treat the fasteners of the ball joint. Use copper grease.
Step 21

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 22

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: ball joint – SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 23

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. SEAT CORDOBA (6K1, 6K2)
Step 24

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 25

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 26

Remove the jacks and chocks.
