Replacement: ball joint – SEAT AROSA (6H). AUTODOC experts recommend:

The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right ball joints.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: ball joint – SEAT AROSA (6H). Take the following steps:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT AROSA (6H)
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 7

Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8

Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
Step 9

Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10

Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11

Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
Step 12

Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the suspension control arm. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13

Disconnect the spherical joint from the arm.

Step 14

Remove the ball joint.
Step 15

Clean the ball joint mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 16

Install a new ball joint.

Replacement: ball joint – SEAT AROSA (6H). AUTODOC recommends:
Do not damage the ball joint cover.
Step 17

Attach the ball joint to the control arm.
Step 18

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 20 Nm torque.+90°

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Be sure to use new fasteners.
Step 19

Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Step 20

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 nm torque.
Step 21

Connect the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.

Step 22

Tighten the fastening nut connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 nm torque.
Step 23

Treat the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Treat the fasteners of the ball joint. Use copper grease.
Step 24

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 25

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: ball joint – SEAT AROSA (6H). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 26

Install the wheel.

Replacement: ball joint – SEAT AROSA (6H). Professionals recommend:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 27

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 28

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.
Step 29

Remove the jacks and chocks.
