- Replace the stabiliser links on FORD FUSION (JU_) in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – FORD FUSION (JU_) Take the following steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: anti roll bar links – FORD FUSION (JU_) AUTODOC recommends:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #17 (2 pieces).
- Step 8Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – FORD FUSION (JU_) AUTODOC experts recommend:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
- Step 10Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 11Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link.
- Step 12Tighten the stabiliser link fastener. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 14Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link.
