- Replace the stabiliser links on ABARTH 500C / 595C (312_) in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – ABARTH 500C / 595C (312_). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. ABARTH 500C / 595C (312_)
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Chock the opposite wheel. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 7Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Unscrew and remove the wheel arch cover fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 10Remove the wheel arch cover.
- Step 11Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 12Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use HEX No.H5. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – ABARTH 500C / 595C (312_). Professionals recommend:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
- Step 14Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
