Engine thermostat for Partner II Tepee Petrol (120 hp)

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. Tools you'll need:

                        Electronic spray
                      
                        All-purpose cleaning spray
                      
                        Torque wrench
                      
                        Combination spanner #7
                      
                        Combination spanner #8
                      
                        Drive socket # E5
                      
                        Drive socket # 7
                      
                        Drive socket # 8
                      
                        Drive socket # 10
                      
                        Ratchet wrench
                      
                        Seal scraper
                      
                        Round-nose pliers
                      
                        Clic-R collar pliers
                      
                        Flat Screwdriver
                      
                        Funnel
                      
                        Fluid container
                      
                        Fender cover
                      
                        Wheel chock

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. Tip from AUTODOC:

Check the condition of the coolant every time you replace the thermostat. Change the coolant if necessary.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. Take the following steps:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Disconnect the air intake pipe fastening. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 4

Remove the air intake pipe.
Step 5

Remove the battery cover.
Step 6

Unscrew the fasteners of the car battery terminals. Use a combination spanner #8.
Step 7

Remove the battery terminals.
Step 8

Press the battery retainers to release them.
Step 9

Remove the battery.
Step 10

Remove the electronic control unit.
Step 11

Remove the engine wiring harness cover.
Step 12

Detach the engine wiring harness connectors. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 13

Unscrew the coolant reservoir cap.
Step 14

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 15

Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.

Step 16

Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 17

Detach the clamp of the lower coolant pipe. Use a combination spanner #7.
Step 18

Detach the lower coolant pipe.
Step 19

Drain the coolant from the engine.

AUTODOC recommends:
Caution! The coolant can be very hot.Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Step 20

Clean the lower coolant pipe mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 21

Attach the lower coolant pipe.
Step 22

Attach the clamp of the lower coolant pipe. Use a combination spanner #7.
Step 23

Clean the coolant hose. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 24

Lower the car.

Step 25

Remove the jacks and chocks.

Step 26

Loosen the coolant hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 27

Detach the coolant hose.

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. AUTODOC recommends:
Caution! Coolant may leak out of the coolant lines and thermostat housing.
Step 28

Loosen the coolant hose clamp. Use clic-R collar pliers.

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. Tip:
Caution! Coolant may leak out of the coolant lines and thermostat housing.
Step 29

Loosen the coolant hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 30

Detach the coolant hose.

Caution! Coolant may leak out of the coolant lines and thermostat housing.
Step 31

Loosen the coolant hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 32

Detach the coolant hose.

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. Professionals recommend:
Caution! Coolant may leak out of the coolant lines and thermostat housing.
Step 33

Unscrew the thermostat housing fasteners. Use a drive socket #8. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 34

Unscrew the thermostat housing mounting stud. Use a drive socket #E5. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 35

Detach the clip of the upper coolant hose. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 36

Remove the thermostat housing.
Step 37

Clean the thermostat housing mounting seat. Use a seal scraper. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 38

Install the new thermostat housing.
Step 39

Attach the coolant hose.
Step 40

Attach the clip of the upper coolant hose.
Step 41

Tighten the thermostat housing fasteners. Use a drive socket #8. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 13 nm torque.
Step 42

Tighten the thermostat housing mounting stud. Use a drive socket #E5. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 11 nm torque.
Step 43

Attach the coolant hose.
Step 44

Secure the coolant hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 45

Attach the coolant hose.
Step 46

Secure the coolant hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.

Step 47

Secure the coolant hose clamp. Use clic-R collar pliers.
Step 48

Attach the coolant hose.
Step 49

Secure the coolant hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 50

Treat the engine wiring harness connectors. Use electronic spray.
Step 51

Attach the engine wiring harness connectors.
Step 52

Install the engine wiring harness cover. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the part.
Step 53

Install the electronic control unit.
Step 54

Install the battery. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Step 55

Attach the terminals to the battery.
Step 56

Screw in the fasteners of the battery terminals. Use a combination spanner #8.

Step 57

Install the battery cover.

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. AUTODOC recommends:
When installing, do not use excessive force to avoid damage to the part.
Step 58

Remove the coolant reservoir cap.
Step 59

Insert the funnel.
Step 60

Pour coolant in the coolant reservoir.

Replacement: engine thermostat – PEUGEOT PARTNER Tepee. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Only use the coolant recommended by the manufacturer.The coolant level should be at the MAX mark.Wait until the air goes out of the system.
Step 61

Install the coolant reservoir cap.
Step 62

Screw on the coolant reservoir cap.

Step 63

Install the air intake pipe and secure it.
Step 64

Screw in the fastener of the air intake pipe. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 65

Run the engine for a few minutes. This should be done in order to remove residual air from the cooling system and to check if the components are operating correctly.

Step 66

Shut off the engine.

Step 67

Undo the bleed screw. Use a flat screwdriver. Wait until the air goes out of the system.
Step 68

Tighten the bleed screw.

Step 69

Check the coolant level. If necessary, top up to the required level.

Please note!
The coolant level should be at the MAX mark.
Step 70

Remove the fender protection cover.

Step 71

Close the hood.
