Replacement: brake drum – Fiat Punto 188. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the brake drums on Fiat Punto 188 in pair for the rear axle. Disregarding the parts state. It ensures even braking.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake drums on the same axle.
- When replacing the brake drums, be sure to also change the brake shoes.
- Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – Fiat Punto 188.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Open the bonnet. - Step 2
Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap. Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.Step 4Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 5
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Fiat Punto 188 - Step 6
Remove the wheel. - Step 7Fully lower the parking brake lever.Step 8
Unscrew the brake drum fastening. - Step 9
Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 10
Remove the brake drum. - Step 11
Remove the hub bearing protection cap. Use a flat screwdriver. Use a hammer.Replacement: brake drum – Fiat Punto 188. AUTODOC recommends:Some cars are not equipped with wheel hub caps.
