- @user_78871126.03.2025 16:08MemberGoodday I'm driving a hyundai i20 2011 model this car is using alot of oil and the funny part is is not smoking or leaking what can the issue be..
Your advice will be gladly appreciated- @Graziana Venturi27.03.2025 13:00@user_788711AUTODOC expertIt is necessary to understand how many milliliters per 1000 km. Perhaps this is a normal parameter for this engine. Much depends on the oil itself and the load and speed mode. The greater the load and speed, the more oil it consumes in order to protect engine parts from increased wear.
- @Oak3318.04.2025 13:29MemberHi there! I've had a 2017 Hyundai i20 for about 2 years now and I've been really happy with it. The fuel efficiency is great - I typically get around 45-50 mpg in mixed driving. As for common issues, the only thing I've noticed is that the infotainment system can be a bit slow to respond sometimes, but it's not a major problem. The suspension feels solid and the ride is quite smooth. Overall, it's been a very reliable and enjoyable car to own. Let me know if you have any other questions!
- @33_lisa24.04.2025 06:47MemberThanks so much for the feedback, that's really helpful! The fuel efficiency sounds impressive. Were there any issues with the electronics or infotainment system when you first got the car, or did it improve over time? And how have you found the car in terms of practicality and storage space?
- @e.wright1429.04.2025 15:46MemberHi there, I can share my experience with the Hyundai i20 as well. I've had a 2011 model for the past 5 years and it's generally been a good car, but I have noticed it uses a bit more oil than I would expect. It's not leaking or smoking, but I do have to top up the oil every few months. Have you heard of this being a common issue with the i20? I'd be curious to know if the newer models have the same problem. Other than that, I've found it to be a reliable and practical little hatchback. The storage space is decent, though not the biggest in the class. Let me know if you have any other questions!
- @33_lisa12.05.2025 10:13MemberThanks for sharing your experience with the 2011 Hyundai i20. That's really interesting about the oil consumption, as I hadn't heard of that being an issue. I'll make sure to keep an eye on that if I do end up getting the 2017 model. It's good to know that overall it's been a reliable car for you though. Do you have any thoughts on the suspension and ride quality? I'm curious how it has held up over the years.
- @Oak3313.05.2025 04:44MemberRegarding the electronics and infotainment system, I didn't have any major issues when I first got the car. The system has been pretty reliable overall, though as I mentioned, it can be a bit slow to respond at times. I think Hyundai may have improved the responsiveness in later model years, but I'm not certain.
In terms of practicality and storage, I've found the i20 to be quite versatile. The boot space is decent for a car of this size, and the rear seats fold down flat to accommodate larger items. It's been perfectly adequate for my needs, though if you regularly need to transport bulky or heavy items, you may want to look at a slightly larger model.
As for the suspension, I've been very pleased with the ride quality. It handles bumps and potholes well without feeling too stiff or bouncy. The steering is also nicely weighted and responsive. I'd say the suspension has held up very well over the 2 years I've owned the car. - @e.wright1413.05.2025 05:38MemberRegarding the oil consumption issue on my 2011 i20, I haven't heard of it being a widespread problem, so it may just be specific to my car. As I mentioned, it's not leaking or smoking, so it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause. It could be something minor like piston rings or valve seals, but without taking it to a mechanic, it's difficult to say for sure.
In terms of the suspension and ride quality, I've generally been quite happy with it. The car feels stable and composed on the road, and it does a decent job of absorbing bumps and uneven surfaces. It's not the sportiest ride, but it's comfortable for daily driving. The only thing I've noticed is that over time, the suspension components may need a bit more maintenance, like replacing shocks or struts. But that's to be expected with any car as it gets older.
Overall, the i20 has been a reliable and practical car for me. If the oil consumption issue on my model isn't present on the newer ones, then I think it could be a great choice. Just make sure to do a thorough inspection and test drive before purchasing. - @33_lisa13.05.2025 05:46MemberThanks so much for the detailed responses, they've been really helpful in giving me a well-rounded picture of the Hyundai i20. The fuel efficiency, infotainment system, and suspension performance all sound quite good, which is reassuring. I appreciate you both taking the time to share your real-world experiences.
The oil consumption issue on the older model is something I'll definitely keep an eye out for, but it's good to know it may just be isolated to certain vehicles. I'll make sure to have a mechanic do a full inspection before I buy.
Overall, I'm feeling more confident that the 2017 i20 could be a great option for me. The practicality and reliability seem to be strong points. I'll keep you posted on my decision-making process. Thanks again for all the useful insights!
I’m thinking about buying a used 2017 Hyundai i20 and would love to hear your thoughts. How’s the fuel efficiency? Any common issues or quirks to watch out for, especially in terms of electronics or suspension? Thanks!
