MANN-FILTER
Is MANN-FILTER a good brand?
MANN-FILTER is an automotive filter brand owned by the German company MANN+HUMMEL GmbH. Starting out as a textiles company in 1938, the company later evolved into a filter specialist and launched its first mass production assembly line back in the 1950s. After 70 years of experience in filtration, the brand has become a global leader in the filter aftermarket, supplying 97% of Europe’s vehicles with OE-quality products. The company has more than 23,000 employees worldwide in over 80 locations.
MANN-FILTER’s product range
The brand offers a wide range of 6,800 premium-quality filters with over 300,000 applications. It supplies innovative air, cabin, fuel and oil filters for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and off-road applications. Its products effectively filter out air pollutants, soot, dirt, damaging residues and water, protecting both diesel and petrol engines. All MANN-FILTER products comply with the latest international OEM standards for production and testing. The parts are supplied to automotive manufacturers for use as original equipment in new vehicles as well as to the aftermarket.
How to distinguish original MANN-FILTER products from counterfeits
The brand’s filters all have distinctive yellow-green packaging, which most car DIY experts will recognise. However, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t some convincing copies out there. It isn’t enough to rely on the appearance of the packaging alone. Most genuine OEM products have a unique serial number written on the packaging or product for identification purposes. You should also check that the markings are clearly visible and that seals aren’t easy to remove. Make sure that the housing is of high quality.
